A source explained: "The script is being written mentioning his character and as of yet, Will stays attached to the project.
"The concept is still to be signed off through Warner Brothers, however there has been no indication that Will is off the project.
"Obviously he's the producer of the movie and his production company is in charge while the development continues.
"The fact is that Will will make a comeback sooner or later and it will be really down to which studio will be the one to take a chance on him."
Will got here under heavy criticism following his behaviour at the Oscars. But he is still expected to make a return to the film business in the coming months.
"The negative sentiments from the public about his profession have certainly reduced in recent weeks as the world has moved on thanks to stories like the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial.
